Transfers, Cancellations, and Refunds
You may transfer your conference registration to another person at any time by notifying us in writing. If you must cancel, please notify the conference manager, Monique Gallery at monique@moniquegalleryevents.com, in writing 30-days prior to conference by March 4, 2025. You will receive a refund for your chosen ticket, less a $100 cancellation fee. Cancellations made after the deadline and “no-shows” will not be refunded.

Entrepreneur and  Philanthropist | SJ Syndrome of Texas

Katie Niemeyer is a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA), mother, philanthropist and entrepreneur who relentlessly encourages others to overcome obstacles and reach new goals. As a teen, Katie nearly died in a hospital burn unit in St. Louis, where she suffered from an adverse reaction to medication, a rare condition called Stevens-Johnson syndrome. Over the last twenty-eight years, she has drawn on her lifetime of experiences as a parent, registered nurse and SJS survivor to create a new business, fund groundbreaking medical research and inspire people to cross their own finish lines. In  2012, Katie designed the specialized athletic sweatband known as the Handana with the aim of helping all athletes and SJS survivors to persevere.

Denise Atwood is a Certified Life Care Planner who has worked in nursing for over 30 years. Her clinical and professional experience covers a variety of areas, including the Adult and Pediatric ICU, Trauma, Burn, Emergency Room, and Surgical nursing, as well as Employee Health, Infection Control, Compliance, and Risk Management. She also hold a CPHRM certification – Certified Professional Health Care Risk Management. Ms. Atwood was an Adjunct Professor at both Ottawa University, the University of Phoenix and Grand Canyon University, teaching classes focusing on health law and ethics and ethics and legal issues in business. She also conducts nurse ethics evaluations, upon referral from the Arizona State Board of Nursing. Ms. Atwood has been a licensed attorney for over 14 years. She represents providers before licensing boards and performs appellate brief writing.

Kerri Martin, MSN, RN, FNP-C, CLCP

Kerri Martin is a Certified Life Care Planner with a family nurse practitioner background. She has 9 years of experience in primary care and surgery. Prior to practicing as a nurse practitioner, she worked as a registered nurse in the clinical areas of infectious disease, critical care, and surgery. She graduated from The University of Texas at Tyler in 2014 with a master’s degree in nursing and from Tarleton State University in 2000 with a bachelor’s degree in nursing. She works with both defense and plaintiff firms in creating and reviewing life care plans, as well as cost estimates. Kerri is a member of the International Association of Rehabilitation Professionals, Texas Nurse Practitioner’s Association and East Texas Nurse Practitioner’s Association.

Christian Augustin is an attorney at Claggett & Sykes Law Firm in Las Vegas, Nevada, where he leads the pre-litigation department with a focus on pre-litigation systems and med-legal case development. He has delivered numerous presentations at med-legal conferences nationwide, including “Building Systems” at Trial Lawyers University (2024), “Pre-Litigation and Litigation Checklist” at the LEX Summit (2024), “Pre-Litigation Med-Legal Case Selection” at the Huntington Beach Trial Lawyers University (2024), and “Settlement Negotiations” for NJA’s Trial Lawyers Boot Camp (2023). Sam Colarusso, DC, CLCP

Dr. Colarusso has been a dedicated Chiropractic Physician in Nevada since 1995, bringing decades of expertise to his practice. In 2017, he joined Claggett & Sykes Law Firm as the Client Advocate, where he oversees and reviews medical management for injured clients. His role ensures clients receive proper treatment to achieve the best and fastest recoveries possible. Board-certified as an Independent Medical Examiner (ABIME) since 1998, Dr. Colarusso has served as a Designated Rating Physician for Nevada for over 25 years. He has conducted more than 1,000 Permanent Partial Disability (PPD) evaluations and Independent Medical Exams (IMEs) for injured individuals, underscoring his authority in the medical-legal field. As a founding member and Chief Medical Strategist at Focus Graphics, Dr. Colarusso contributes to the legal community by creating demonstrative trial materials, including surgical animations, medical illustrations, and diagnostic imaging enhancements. These tools assist legal professionals in effectively presenting cases during mediation and trials.

In 2021, Dr. Colarusso expanded his impact by founding Focus Medical Consulting. As a Certified Life Care Planner (CLCP), he provides nationwide consulting services, leveraging his extensive medical-legal expertise to clarify injury causation, assess treatment needs, and quantify permanent injuries for clients.

Jessica Urie, RN, BSN, LCP-C, CNLCP

Certified Nurse Life Care Planner 

Jessica Urie is a registered nurse with more than 25 years of experience in the healthcare field. Her expertise spans emergency and trauma medicine, clinical trials, endpoint adjudication, case management, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, and education. Jessica has also contributed to cardiovascular research, with her work being published in the field. She transitioned into Life Care Planning in 2019 and is the founder and owner of JHU Consulting LLC, as well as the co-owner of MedEx Strategies LLC.

Jessica served as the President of the AANLCP and currently is the  Past President role on the AANLCP  Board in 2025. She has been actively involved with the organization, including serving on the editorial board of the AANLCP Journal of Life Care Planning and participating in the AANLCP Conference Committee. Additionally, she chaired the 2022 AANLCP Conference Committee and co-chaired the 2023 Conference Committee. In recognition of her contributions, Jessica received the AANLCP Ambassador Award in 2022 for her outstanding work on the AANLCP Conference.

First and foremost, Sandi is a nurse.  Sandi’s clinical background comes from years of working in the fast paced critical care areas of coronary, surgical, neurological, respiratory, trauma and burns.   She is also a USAF veteran serving as a Flight Nurse stabilizing and transporting injured and wounded serviceman.  Sandi attributes her ability to assess, advocate, and educate the injured, ill, infirmed as well as their families as pivotal in her success in medical care coordination. Sandi works with individuals across the age continuum within the scope of medical care coordination, legal file review, and medical cost projections/life care plans.  Sandi is a public speaker, as a Distinguished Toastmaster she presented Education sessions, and leadership training throughout GA. Lisa Gay is a Family Nurse Practitioner who has been working with patients of all ages for over 15 years in settings such as Primary Care, Ear, Nose & Throat, and Urgent Care. She has a bachelors and masters degree in nursing from Virginia Commonwealth University and has lived and worked on St. Croix in the US Virgin Islands since 2010. She was awarded the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners’ State Award for Excellence in 2018 for the US Virgin Islands. Lisa began working in life care planning in 2019 and became a Certified Life Care Planner (CLCP) in early 2021. She works with a wonderful team of professionals at Case In Point LCP and has experience creating life care plans in a variety of pediatric and adult cases.

Shelly Kinney is a master’s prepared nurse residing near Omaha, Nebraska. She is certified in both Case Management and Nurse Life Care Planning and has been in the rehabilitation field since 2000. Ms. Kinney’s healthcare background includes work in critical care, acute medical rehabilitation, post-acute brain injury rehabilitation, women’s health, and case management in hospital-based, insurance, and worker’s compensation settings. Victoria Powell is a registered nurse with 30 years of professional nursing experience. Her background has primarily been focused on catastrophic injury care with an emphasis on amputation injury having worked with her first limb loss individual while working as a workers’ compensation case manager. Ms. Powell is an active member of multiple professional organizations including American Association of Nurse Life Care Planners, Case Management Society of America, International Academy of Rehab Professionals and the International Society for Prosthetics and Orthotics (US-ISPO) among others. She also currently serves on Amputee Coalition’s Science and Medical Advisory Council and current working on the Osteointegration Task Force, Wrist Disarticulation Task Force and the Limb Loss Education Task Force. Dr. Jenn Craigmyle is a distinguished expert in nursing, med-legal consultation, and life care planning with a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) from West Coast University and a Master of Science in Nursing Education (MSN-Ed) from Western Governors University. As the founder of Craigmyle Legal Nurse Services LLC now operating as InVision Life Care Planning, she has provided exceptional legal nurse consulting, case management, and medical record review services since 2012. Her clinical experience includes critical care and admissions roles at Loma Linda University Medical Center, demonstrating her leadership and expertise in healthcare.

An active member of organizations such as AANLCP and IARP, Jenn has contributed to advancing her field through committee work and mentorship. Erin T. OConnell is a distinguished figure in life care planning, recognized with the 2020 AANLCP® Distinguished Service Award and the 2021 AANLCP Ambassador Award. With nearly 20 years of nursing experience, and has practiced in a wide range of specialties, including case management, long-term care, acute care, rehabilitation, emergency medicine, and radiology.
